Our customers often ask us how we grew from five telecom specialists and one product line
in 1991 to the industry-leading independent distributor we are today.
It all started when Michael Galinski, CEO and founder of America II Corp., heard telecom
equipment buyers calling for more choice in distribution. Adapting the model of independent
distribution with which he revolutionized the semiconductor industry, Galinski established A1
Teletronics as a viable distribution partner for telecom buyers like you who seek to supplement
your buying activity within the authorized distribution channel.
One year later, with our product offering and people power growing, A1 moved out of the America
II corporate complex into our own facility, providing the space necessary to transform our
operation into the stocking distributor and service provider you know today. A1's Repair Center
was the first addition (in 1992) with our Technical Service Center following in 1994 to enhance
our service offerings to you.
With these enhanced stocking capabilities and service offerings channeling so much product
through the A1 facility, we made a commitment to protect the product we distribute to you
by becoming one of the first (and remaining one of the few) independent telecommunications
distributors to achieve ISO 9000 certification. To continuously monitor and improve our
processes for you, we created a devoted Quality Assurance Department the same year we achieved our
original ISO certification (1995).
By 2001, A1 provided product, quality, support, and repair in-house, but we lacked one
offering: house calls. Customers like you asked for onsite service and installation, so
we attained our communications specialty license for Pinellas County and began providing
local service and installation in six neighboring counties.
Today, A1 stands strong with 80+ employees and up to five million dollars in inventory
reflecting the industry's top manufacturers. And we have a decade, and customers like
you, to thank.
America II Corp.
Michael Galinski founded America II Corp. in 1989 with the establishment of
America II Electronics, Inc., an electronic component distributor. Two years later,
he added A1 Teletronics to the America II corporate family, followed by America II
Communications (a telecom equipment and service provider to the hospitality industry)
in 1994. Now a $300 million organization with over 500 employees between its St. Petersburg,
Florida corporate campus and related companies (including America II Electronics' international
counterparts in England, Japan, and Mexico), America II Corp. ranks 31st on Cahners Electronics
Group's Top 100 Private U.S. Electronics Companies (2000).
