Q: What is an interconnect?
A: An interconnect is a business that services and installs telecommunications equipment,
but does not always stock the equipment it installs.
Q: Is A1 an interconnect?
A: Because A1 stocks equipment in addition to providing installation and service, we are
considered a full-service telecommunications distributor.
Q: What is the advantage to enlisting a full-service telecommunications distributor over an
interconnect to conduct your installation?
A: Interconnects turn to third-party vendors (such as telecommunications distributors) to source
the product they will install, often resulting in a mark-up for customers. On the other hand, by
stocking the equipment they install, full-service distributors become a one-stop shop, thus saving
customers the costs interconnects charge to source product outside of their organizations.
Q: What value-added services does A1 offer in relation to installation?
A: A1 offers same-day emergency service for system changes and upgrade support on installations.
