White House recognizes A1 Teletronics manager
Jim Tanner, Technical Service Center Manager
St. Petersburg, Fla. March 15 - Following President George W. Bush's recent visit to A1 Teletronics'
sister company, America II Electronics, Inc., the White House Communications Agency presented A1 Technical
Service Center Manager Jim Tanner with a certificate of appreciation for his "outstanding manner [of providing]
support to the President of the United States." The certificate further recognized Tanner's "unique
abilities…superb attitude and professionalism" for enabling the Communications Agency "to provide critical
communications for the President, the White House staff, and the United States Secret Service."
In the days leading up to the President's visit, Tanner ensured that all areas to be used by the
President and his staff were able to accommodate the volume of circuits needed and arranged for
additional cabling where necessary. He also helped establish communications for security and the media.
"It was really interesting to see all the work that actually went on behind the scenes - the way that
so many different organizations worked together to do such a big job in such a short amount of time,"
remarked Tanner, who wished to thank the personnel at A1, including Connie Grzesiakowski, for their help
throughout the operation.
On March 8, 2002, President George W. Bush recognized America II Electronics, Inc. for embodying
entrepreneurship and expanding amidst economic and world challenges. Emphasizing his policy of
corporate responsibility, the President participated in a roundtable discussion with America II
employees before addressing the nation from America II's main warehousing and logistics center in St.
Petersburg, Florida. For photos and audio, video, and press clips of the President's visit to America II
