A1 Teletronics, Inc. announces employee promotions
St. Petersburg, Fla. September 10, 2001 - A1 Teletronics, Inc. announces the promotions of
three employees: Jim Tanner, Sue Kalter, and Kristina Coleman.
In his tenth year with A1 Teletronics' parent corporation, America II Corp., Jim Tanner moves
into the position of Technical Service Center Manager from his six-year seat as Corporate
Communications Manager. Sue Kalter, a six-year veteran of A1, adds to her responsibilities as
Inventory Control Coordinator the job of Customer Service Supervisor. Kristina Coleman, who
began training as a purchasing agent with A1 in March 2001, has been promoted to the position of
Norstar® product manager.
Jim Tanner
Over the last 10 years, Jim Tanner has been involved with the technical operations of
A1 Teletronics and its holding company, America II Corp. After getting his start as a
warehouse technician for America II Corp.'s largest holding (independent electronic
component distributor America II Electronics, Inc.), Tanner transitioned into the role of
Test and Repair Technician for A1 Teletronics. In 1993, Tanner was promoted to Test and
Repair Supervisor for A1, where he trained personnel to repair equipment and assisted
customers in troubleshooting problems with their PBX systems. Two years later, Tanner
was promoted to Corporate Communications Manager for America II Corp. and began coordinating
phone service, overseeing hardware installation, conducting call accounting, and reviewing
contracts for the organization's worldwide headquarters. Most recently, Tanner transitioned
into Technical Service Center Manager for A1 Teletronics. While handling the daily
responsibilities of overseeing A1's technical support, installation, and maintenance
divisions, Tanner works to extend full system installation to customers on
Florida's west-central coast. He also aims to enhance A1's customer relations by
improving the distributor's test and repair operations and making its technical support
services an integral part of A1's offering to customers. Prior to joining A1, Tanner
served as a communications technician in the U.S. Army.
Sue Kalter
Sue Kalter joined A1 Teletronics in October 1995. As Process Facilitator, she monitored
inventory accuracy and coordinated product flow in A1's repair center while serving as the
liaison between the company's sales and repair divisions. In March 1997, Kalter was promoted
to Inventory Control Coordinator, widening her focus to include maintaining data integrity,
troubleshooting, and processing all adjustments within A1's warehouse. Recently, Kalter
added to these duties the responsibilities of Customer Service Supervisor. In this position,
Kalter strengthens A1's customer relationships by leading its Customer Service Team to
anticipate and address customer concerns. Kalter's job experience prior to A1 included
customer service, billing, accounting, and collections.
Kristina Coleman
After undergoing training as a purchasing agent, Kristina Coleman was named A1
Teletronics' Norstar® Product Manager. As manager for one of A1's top product lines,
Coleman develops relationships with new and established vendors to stock the highest
quality telecommunications equipment at the lowest prices for A1's customers, aiming to
improve the distributor's competitive position in the market. Preparing for her role as
product manager for A1, Coleman filled a similar position with imaging supply manufacturer
and distributor Eastern Ribbon and Roll Corp. and obtained an associate degree in business
from St. Petersburg College.
