NORSTAR MODULAR/COMPACT ICS

How do I reset an unknown configuration password that was changed on my MICS 4.x without defaulting the system by shorting the motherboard capacitor and loosing all my programming?

In N.R.U. version 8.1 use the Excel file that relates to your software level and unit type. These files are located in the C:/ICSRT/WORKBOOK folder. Run the file and enable the macros. Then set your unit parameters up. You will select only password information for acquisition. Select the ACQUIRE tab in the Excel file and access the unit via a RAD. The current passwords for the system are now displayed.

Slot 2.

Can Trunk modules go into the fiber expansion card that is in slot 1 of the MICS when using XC software?

No. Trunk modules can not be connected to a fiber expansion card in slot 1. Station modules can go into either card position.

If I have XC software and add an additional fiber expansion card, can I add 6 more modules to the card in the 1st slot?

Dial the NAM up by using a dialup-networking tool created in your remote computer. Then use Norstar Voice Mail Manager software to edit the Class of Service. What are the equipment and product requirements needed to upgrade my NAM to 4.0 software on site?

Top
You must first be sure your unit fits the basic equipment requirements. You'll need a parallel CD ROM drive such as Micro Solution's Backpack module 180100 that is recognized by the NAM. Additionally, the NAM hard drive needs to be larger that 570 Meg and the NAM must have at least 16 Meg of RAM. Then and only then should you consider purchasing the two required items needed for upgrade? Be prepared to strictly follow the upgrade instructions. The products are NTAB2598 4.0 Upgrade Package and NTAB2594 Software Package.

How do I enter my Norstar Flash Voice Mail when Feature codes "983" and "981" are showing "inactive feature"?

1) Try Feature 903. If this shows "inactive feature" as well, you will need to power down the Flash.
2) Power the Flash up and wait 10 minutes for it to adjust.
3) After 10 minutes, enter Feature 903. Select "next" on the display. When the display shows f980-f989, select "ok." This will allow you to use the high feature codes of the Flash Voice Mail.
4) Enter Feature 983. If it has a "PSWD" prompt, you will need to enter 266344 as the password. Follow the options to choose languages and complete a basic configuration. If you receive a "LOG" prompt, enter 1020000 if you have a 3-digit DN or 120000 if you have a 2-digit DN.
5) Once you have completed these steps, you will be able to access the Flash Voice Mail programming.
