3 Day Basic BCM50 Course


Description:
This 3 day class is designed for telecom technicians installing, programming and maintaining BCM50 and CallPilot® Voicemail systems.

Each student will have access to a physical system for 'hands-on' experience programming the system. There will be practice exercises in which the students will perform selected installation and maintenance tasks on the system. Also there will be written exercises in which students answer questions relating to information presented in the course for reinforcement and future reference.

A training course manual is provided for students as well.

Objectives - Areas covered during this course include:

  • describing and configuring BCM50 resources
  • describing and setting dip switches for media bay modules
  • connecting to the BCM50 via Ethernet, hub and serial
  • identifying and changing the IP address of the BCM50
  • describing and understanding the differences with the New Linux platform
  • perform trunk and line programming
  • program terminals and sets
  • perform hunt group and services programming
  • program routing and destination codes
  • install and program T-1/ PRI services
  • Installing and programming IP telephones
  • IP trunking
  • describe the features and system operation of the CallPilot® voicemail
  • program Automated Attendant feature and Custom Call Routing Trees
  • program mailboxes, remote message notification and outbound transfer
  • back up and restore programming

Prerequisite Skills:

  • define and describe various trunk types (analog/ digital)
  • understand basic T-1 theory and concepts
  • use Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator for downloading/ inputting.
  • install and wire telephones
  • Modular ICS experience preferred

Lunch will be provided each day during the course and all of the materials are included in the purchase price of $1,750. A certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion of this course.
