Description:
This 5 day class is designed for telecom technicians installing, programming and maintaining Business Communications Manager (BCM) and CallPilot® Voicemail systems.
Each student will have access to a physical system for 'hands-on' experience programming the system. There will be practice exercises in which the students will perform selected installation and maintenance tasks on the system. Also there will be written exercises in which students answer questions relating to information presented in the course for reinforcement and future reference.
A training course manual is provided for students as well.

Objectives - Areas covered during this course include:
- Describe base platform improvements
- Describe and configure BCM resources
- Describe and set dip switches for media bay modules
- Connect to the BCM via Ethernet, hub and serial
- Identify and change the IP address of the BCM, using Element Manager
- Identify changes in trunk/line programming, system DN programming, one button park & page, hunt group and services, hunt group and services programming
- Program routing and destination codes
- Install and program T-1/PRI services
- Install and program IP telephones, including new IP sets
- IP trunking/SIP availability
- LAN CTE, Visual Call Manager, Unified Messaging, Fax Suite
- Identify CallPilot® Improvements
- Identify changes and describe the features and system operation of the CallPilot® voicemail
- Back up and restore programming/USB support
Prerequisites:
- Define and describe various trunk types (analog/digital)
- Understand basic T-1 theory and concepts
- Use of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator for downloading/inputting
- Install and wire telephones
- Experience with Modular ICS and basic CallPilot® required
- Basic computer skills required
The course fee is $2,000, which includes all of the training materials, a manual, and certificate of attendance. Lunch is also included each day of training when at the A1 Teletronics facility.
